We are delighted to announce the appointment of Jessica Rosenberg, our new Executive Director for the Center for Jewish Studies, starting on July 20, 2026. Bringing a wealth of experience in academic administration, strategic leadership, and community engagement, our new Executive Director will oversee the Center's daily operations, academic programming, fellowship awards, and public events. In this role, Jessica will work closely with our faculty, graduate and undergraduate students, and visiting scholars to continue advancing Berkeley's vibrant contribution to the field of Jewish Studies.
Jessica is a seasoned Jewish professional with over two decades of experience in Jewish education, programming, relationship building, operations, and administration. She holds a Master of Divinity in Jewish Studies from Harvard Divinity School, where she actively participated in many of the Center for Jewish Studies’ programs, giving her a deep, personal understanding of the Center's importance as a hub for interdisciplinary collaboration and campus community support.
Throughout her career, Jessica has excelled as a strategic, long-term thinker and program professional. In her recent role as the Senior Jewish Educator at OneTable, she convened cross-departmental working groups to turn educational impact reports into actionable, large-scale strategic plans. She also has extensive experience working with academics, university administration, and donors, and has collaborated closely with development teams to support fundraising, write grant applications, and manage programmatic budgets. Prior to her time at OneTable, Jessica served as the Director of the Taube Center for Jewish Peoplehood at the Marin JCC, where she was highly regarded as an innovative program leader and educator.
